Goodchilds Wolverhampton Reviews

I cant use zero and unfortunately they get one star, I would not give this if I had any alternative. If thinking of going with Goodchilds, do your own research first there are plenty of reviews on the internet about the shambles of a company this is. They are out to make money form landlords and tenants and charge for work that has not taken place. Avoid if you can.

Awful company with rude and dishonest staff at the Walsall branch. Charge fees at every single opportunity - there is even a £75 fee to leave. The property was misrepresented, the 'shared garden' was actually an overgrown mess at the rear of the neighbour's garden. Every potential repair I reported was never followed up' let alone fixed. When I reported the problems again, they feigned ignorance. Flat was cold damp, draughty, walls were covered in mildew within a few days with condensation often dripping from the ceilings. Complained about various issues but no repairs were ever carried out and as far as they were concerned I view the property and accepted it "as is". They are interested only in money and will rinse your for every fee imaginable. They are the epitome of the worst of private letting.

I would give Goodchilds estate agents in wednesbury a 1 star because when I noticed they were not paying me rental income every calendar month and when I emailed them they did not reply regarding this but they just wanted some repair job paid for. I want to mention I am a landlady and got messed around by Goodchilds lettings.

I have been waiting for 6 weeks for Goodchilds to repair a broken ground floor window for a tenant in Goldthorn Terrace, Wolverhampton. I've visited their Wolverhampton office twice and made at least 6 phone calls - but to no effect. The window has still not been replaced. A shockingly bad level of service

Awful customer service. No respect for tenants or landlady (erdington branch) I received my deposit back via cheque today 21/2/15. myself and my landlady agreed I would be getting 100% of the money back however goodchilds have taken £90 out of this for a 'moving out fee' this is not there money to take and am disgusted. I was not advised this was going to happen and they didn't move me out my landlady did. Complete scam artists. Trouble since day 1!!!

The worst company I have ever dealt with. All they care about is money when you phone the person you need to speak to is never in the office. I moved out of the property on 26 October and I'm still waiting for my deposit to be returned to me. They was also trying to keep money out of my deposit for a notch in the skirting board which was a natural defect. They don't even deserve that one star.

Just sold my property with Goodchilds Wolverhampton and Justin was brilliant!

From the point of him coming out to my property to the sale agreed (all 4 weeks) I was kept up to date from start to finish.

Would definitely recommend them to anybody!

Have been a tenant with Goodchilds Wolverhampton now for three years and recently swapped to another property with them from their Wednesbury branch. I have to say i was so surprised at how easy they made everything and how helpful everyone was.

They were happy with the condition of the property and the check out process was really smooth.

I would certainly rent with them again and to be honest i don't think id go with any one else anyone else.

I want to give a special mention to Leah and Jack particularly!!! (hope this gets you a bonus you deserve one)

That they are only interested in money and not in providing any sort of service to tenants is evident from their website which doesn't even have a section for information for tenants.

They took over the agency of the flat I was renting midway through a tenancy and failed to provide any information at all, not even bank details to pay the rent to despite repeated requests. Having eventually got these details from them and paid my rent on time, I then got an overdue rent demand through the post on the day the rent was due! Utter incompetence!

Incidentally, this letter was one of a number of attempts they made to try and get me to make additional, unnecessary rent payments over the phone. I am very suspicious about what would have happened to these requested 'additional' payments had I ever made any.

They seem to have an incredibly high turnover of young staff in their offices who don't have a clue what they are doing.

At the end of my tenancy I thoroughly cleaned my flat and had a checkout inspection from a local agent on behalf of Goodchilds which revealed no problems.

Goodchilds then failed to return my bond in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Deposit Protection Scheme or respond to any e-mails about it.

I was therefore forced to open a dispute with the Deposit Protection Service, upon which Goodchilds attempted to retain £140 of my bond for 'cleaning charges'.

It was clear that Goodchilds were simply 'trying it on', first in attempting delaying tactics with the return of my bond to take me outside the time limit for raising a dispute, then by making a totally unjustified attempt to claim a huge sum for cleaning.

Of course, Goodchilds were unable to supply any evidence in support of their claim and the Deposit Protection Service found in my favour and I received the full amount of my bond back.

But what a bunch of shysters. I'm glad to now be out of the rental market but I feel sorry for the tenants at the mercy of people like Goodchilds.

Avoid if you can.

Only giving them a 1 star rating because there is no other alternative. I would suggest to anyone thinking of being a tenant to think twice about it.. They are rude, never interested in your problems and only get off their seats if they smell a bit of commission

We spent all winter 2013 with no boiler or central heating. Calling the agents to wasted my time. So we boiled our own hot water and got in 4 electric heaters. Unacceptable when you have 3 children all under 5 years old.

The houses never received it's gas test so the whole year we live there, it could of been dangerous.

You are treated like a fool by unschooled agents with less education than you. Laughable really!

The houses are not up to scratch, mainly the older ones on their books, landlords just paint over the problems and tenants only find out month or two after signing the agreement.

I could go on and on, but I have made my point and I respect myself enough not to waste anymore of my time on wasters like them.

I will had that this is just my experience. Others may say different.

Look for another agent.

Rubbish company!!
I used to be a tenant to goodchilds Wolverhampton, not once did they help!
Rang up many of times asking for things to be done and never got done, so ended up moving out in the end, best choice I've ever made.
Would most definitely not recommend them to future tenants!
Wouldn't waste your hard earned money on them to be sat at they're home in comfort while your struggling in a home that your meant to get good service for and you get nothing!
