Absolutely awful service from beginning to end. Very unfriendly staff who were more interested in chatting and laughing instead of doing there job. Food was cold when eventually arrived. Would not recommend and would certainly not return 14-08-18

I visited Banks Bistro over the weekend and liked the look and they even had a guy singing songs, it was all very quaint. Unfortunatley as the night wore on the amateur side was revealed. The starters & meals were extremely late. When we made reservations we were told that there was a choice of sweets but when our meal ended we were all given plated profiterols. It was basically take it or leave it. To be honest we had read the reviews and thought we were in for a treat, but in reality the treat was on them as they got paid and we suffered a miserable night. It was like being in 'Fawlty Towers' it was sooooo bad only we weren't laughing!! This place lacked friendliness, customer care & manners. If you are looking for a special place to go stay far away from here....... 18-11-13

Went to this place at the invite of a friend to celebrate a special birthday. I had never heard of it before but have frequented many restaurants in and around Wolverhampton over the years. At face value it well presented as modern and a nice interior but behind the scenes they do have any idea of customer service, customer appreciation and their attitude was far from modern. I arrived at 7 PM and people were receiving starters at 8:30 PM, the main meal was being served at 10 PM. When we queried why there was a delay we were told that there were two people who had called in sick earlier on in the day. When I spoke to one of Junior members of staff about people ringing in sick he told me that nobody was off sick, the manager told us a deliberate lie to cover their inadequacies.

There were people outside of our party sitting in the restaurant who were also left waiting for an unreasonable length of time and you could feel the agitation building in the room. At no time did the manager or his staff inform customers as to why there was a delay and it was left for us to be constantly asking " what's going on". We were given a variety of reasons none of which made sense and as stated one which was a deliberate lie.
It was obvious from a very early stage that they had no idea of what they were doing amongst the things that made this apparent were; many of us were not offered drinks, water was not made available on the table, proper spoons weren't put on the table for people having soup and starters were bought out to the same group with a half an hour delay from the first to the last.
The owner/manager's attitude was absolutely unbelievable, I have never experienced such arrogance ever going to an establishment. He was totally dismissive, raised his voice, refused to make eye contact with customers, insisted that he wasn't going to compensate us and was damn right rude.

If you are planning to go there for a Christmas party, special birthday or special evening I urge you if you have booked to cancel it and don't go anywhere near this place as you will be regretting the embarrassment it will cause to your friends or colleagues. 17-11-13
