I tried to let property through Martin and Co Waterloo Road Wolverhampton. I told them on the place before you take any further step, make me satisfied about the tenant. After a client viewing they did not provide me required information e.g tenant back ground, previous address, job status and also did not carried out required checks. They give tenant moving date with out my permission. When I spoken to them I find out they are lier, cheater, selfish and money grabber, staff rude and un professional. I decided to make a complaint to Trading Standards because they are not following the business rules, they are making their own rules just to make money.

The most horrible agency i have dealt with. Rude, unprofessional, childish. Me and my partner rented a property from Martin anc co for just over a year, we decided to move out after couple incidents that we couldn't deal with nomore. Firstly our boiler broke down in the middle of winter and we was left in cold and without hot water for a week. Secondly they tried to put rent price up after the contract was signed already. The do not want to deal woth problems, and it is a scam as you do not get the service they promised.
I will never use them again and i would never suggest them to anyone.
Be aware as the staff members do hang up the phone when you call them about problems, and they are extremely rude. 26-05-16

Too bad I cannot give a zero star rating.... I tried to rent a property with Martin and co and upon viewing a property I liked it and was told to pay £140 application fee. I was given the form to fill in and took it home. Before I returned the form I requested a second viewing with the kids and was told the current tenants changed their mind and where not moving out any more. I was adviced to look on their website to see if there was a property I was interest in. Sadly there wasn't. So I requested my £140 back mind you I still had the application form. I was refunded £80 and charged £50 +VAT! So I asked why I was charged when I didn't apply nor was there any exchange of goods or services. I feel cheated on and efforts to get my money is proving difficult. I have got in touch with the properties ombudsman so fingers crossed I get my money back. Never use them ever again. 25-05-16

I will always regret the day I walked into Martin and co Wolverhampton after I had seen an Internet advert of a flat I wanted. I changed my mind about the flat because I didn't want to share. In less than 24 hours I told them that I was no longer interested in the flat and would like my money back. This was in April but no one has bothered to contact me about my refund. I have been emailing and going to their offices but am always told the same thing that they director can't be contacted by anyone, and that he will respond when ever he can.

This agency should be closed down, they care more about money than giving a good customer service. I wouldn't advice anyone to have anything to do with this agency.

I just wish I had read their reviews before getting myself involved with these people. 20-07-15

I had a viewing today at 12.15. I arrived at the property at 12.00 on the dot, probably earlier. I waited for 45 mins, in that time I had tried calling martin and co off a phone box which was a minute walk away from the flat and nobody answered the phone even though I had tried calling 3 times. I was waiting outside whilst it was freezing cold and raining. at 12.39 somebody called me from martin and co and told me the man that I had the viewing with had already left as he was waiting from 12.00. whilst I was waiting outside the property I saw nobody come in or leave the property. I had gone to all of the doors behind the bakery were the flat is located and knocked on them all, as there was no indication of any of the door numbers. In the whole time I was waiting there nobody called me to ask if I was having difficulty finding it, or to tell me that they were waiting inside the flat for me. when martin and co called me yesterday to confirm I wanted to view this flat I told them that I was a single mum and that I didn't have much money. As a single mum I feel as if the £4.30 I had spent on a day saver to view the property and the £1.80 I had spent in the phone box to get in touch with them has been waisted. it might not be a lot of money to most people but as a single mother I don't have money like that to waist. I am furious that had been left waiting in the cold and rain for 45 minutes for no reason. I shall never be using martin and co ever again! 15-02-14

Again not worthy of 1 star as a landlord they have continually lied to us. They have charged us for a non existence homelet insurance policy,
When i asked them what their maintenance charges were per hour, they replied we don't have a hourly rate. 27-10-13

They do not deserve even 1 star!
This is an absolute joke of a company. The highest level of incompetence I have ever experienced.
My boyfriend and I moved into a property 4 months ago and after 1 month, the boiler broke. After TWO WEEKS they sent a plumber to check the ELECTRIC boiler.
He was clueless as to how to fix it, that's understandable.
I was told the contractor would call to arrange another visit. No phone call. After endless phonecalls from myself plus visits to martin & co office, our problem STILL isn't fixed. (It has now been 12 weeks with no hot water) Even worse, our toilet broke 8 weeks ago. 2 people were called out separately with no resolution to this day.
We have been asked to move out at the landlords request at the end of november (6 month fixed term but without being asked if we would like to renew this)
Today I received a threatening phonecall from Martin & Co stating that due to our late rent we will be 'removed from the property' and 'costs recovered', although legally we have until 31st November. After assuring him I knew my rights as far as being provided with basic human right to a toilet and hot water being included in the rent i was informed that 'citizens advice are a joke to me'.
Has anybody else had such a horrible experience?
This company need to be investigated as it is a crime for them to call themselves a business, let alone the illegal way they operate. 08-10-13

I would give them a 0 star if possible! As a landlord they blatantly lie and add charges after the property has been let out and docs have been signed. They keep your deposit and charge you to keep the deposit even though the DPS scheme says this is free! useless co. with no morals or any kind of professionalism. 06-09-13

I would not recommend this agent to anyone. Since we viewed the property we are now in we have had a whole list of problems.

The house was inventoried while the previous owners will sill living in it. There is considerable damage to the carpets, blinds, every wall is damaged, the house looks like it has not been cleaned for months, with thick sticky grime on every surface. Broken light fittings, melted electrical cables. We signed a contract before moving in to leave the place clean and in a good state of repair, which is a joke when it is a complete wreck that they have rented to us. There was also furniture left in every room and the shed and garage we full of the previous owners stuff too.
We have had bailiffs turning up looking for the landlord, court summons', and people knocking on the door looking for them because they are owed money. The previous owners have also been to the house 5-6 times in the month we have been here to collect stuff but all they take is half used cans of cheap paint. They have also been abusive and threatening towards us when we answer the door to them.

When we have raised issues with Martin & Co we were told they're not interested in fixing any of the issues we have raised.

Have been dealing with Martin & Co over the last few weeks regarding a property in WV6 area. We viewed this property twice and were told we could have first refusal on this property. To-day we have been told that the property has been rented out by a Company with no phone call to us regarding this. My husband rang a member of staff on Friday the 8th February who refused to take a deposit of him, and now we have to move out of our house within the next week or so with nowhere to go. I do not think this is a very proffesional Company. 12-02-13
