Beatties Department Store Wolverhampton Reviews

Purchased 3 items from your furniture department. When initially ordered was told delivery would be mid August which was fine.
Had a call 8th july from furnishings manager to tell me my goods were ready for delivery and when could i pay off balance so they could be delivered.
Money was not an issue but taking the delivery was all planned for when i had leave booked due to the fact that the furniture was for my mother who has dementia i was having to organise everything around that i.e removal of the old furniture and the cleaning of the carpets.
The manager was insistent that delivery had to be made in july as the factory was closing for the summer.
I subsequently changed all plans for this reason and delivery was scheduled for 28th july.
On the morning of delivery only 2 of my 3 items arrived with the delivery people knowing nothing about my 3rd item.
When i eventually got hold of someone in the store i was told that they did not know all items wouldn't be delivered on the same day.
At this point i was quite annoyed having been presganged into having the delivery before mid August.
They then tried to tell me they would get my 3rd item to me early the following week even though it was coming into the warehouse on the 29th july.
I told them i wanted it as soon as it hit the warehouse.
I asked to speak the furnishings manager on multiple occasions but was fobbed off. At one point told hw2was busy doing a stock take.
I did not get a call back till Saturday 29th but this time from a lady called Tina who said delivery was in warehouse and they could deliver Monday earliest as all transport had been despatched.
I stated my case to Tina and told her by hook or by crook i wanted the item that day or i was coming to the store and having that item refunded in cash as that is what i handed over.
She eventually had the item curriered from Coventry for me and i recieved it 2pm that day.
I apologised to tina for the fact she had to pick up my disgruntlement due to her rubbish manager leaving her having to sort it out.
He should have handled it the day before and organised the delivery and at least called me back which he did not.
I won't be buying furniture again from hof not while he is the manager.

I am very disappointed with the customer service in mac. I came in and asked for a foundation test to see which colour would suit my skin. Mac staff came across very polite and kindly asked me to sit down. I was apparently next in line as no staff were free. I understand I walked in and other customers had appointments. However a staff member said she will let the rest off the staff know I'm next in line. I waited 35 minutes and no staff got back to me or told me how long my wait was. This is the second time I have come to Mac in Beatties and I have left the store very upset with no result. The staff was not helpful and I am so sad with how they treated me I felt very intimidated.

The car park has been sold to a company in London who are basically running a scam charging 100 pound fines for failing to use a payment system many do not understand due to lack of signage and payment machines. The management at the store do not wish to take any responsibility and indeed refuse to discuss the matter in any way referring you back to the company in London. Beatties was THE store in Wolverhampton when I was child known for its service and quality. James Beattie would turn in his grave to see what has happened to his store. Take my advice - do not use the "customer" car park. It is too risky. Beatties is now the House of Fraser and does not deserve your custom until they address the scam that is going on.

Disappointed by the knowledge of the staff. I asked to be shown where the bridal department was after noting the sign by the escalator said 1st floor. One staff member pointed me across the floor to the other side of the shop.. then another member of staff told me that beatties no longer had a bridal dept info given after i waited for her and another colleague finished their little chat... plus store is a bit smelly on the lower floors where cards and stationary are .. freestanding heaters are dotted around doesnt look very nice .

The shoe department in Wolverhampton appears to be franchised to Office.co.uk, I purchased a pair of flat shoes which after being used for less than 10 times one of the heals fell off. On going back to this House of Fraser store I was told "everyone knows you shouldn't wear leather shoes in the wet!" There must be lots of people in Wolverhampton who walk around on wet days in bare feet if they buy shoes at Office.co.uk, or House of Fraser. Bring back the Beatties family.

PS I never wore them in the wet, but i did wipe them clean before going to the store with a damp cloth, sillyme..

I visited as my husband and son were at Molineux Stadium. I had been looking for a long time for new fitflops and sandals, and I could have bought the whole Shurodopy section. Staff were very helpful.
I also enquired with the Guerlian assistant if they sol Paul Mitchell hair products. She phoned the hairdressers , to avoid me unnecessarily going upstairs. Excellent service and I did purchase my products at the hairdressers.
If only this standard of service was extended to other shops.

Great visit and I will return.

I have to agree with the person who wrote in about the Mac section in the store. I too was left waiting for a considerable length of time after being told I would be seen to within 10 minutes, which turned into 25 mins. When I spoke to the assistant about this, she was beyond rude in her explanation as to the delay (under staffed) As this section always seems to be busy, then Beatties management, you need to address this issue to ensure that all your customers are dealt with in an manner that befits the excellent and historic reputation of Beatties.

I too will be looking for another Mac outlet where I can spend my hard earned money.

The MAC store in this lovely department store is a let down. Their products are wonderful but unfortunately their sales assistants lack good customer service. If you dare to ask for service after you have stood around for over 20minutes you may be shouted at, as I was. Who does that? I could go into more detail, but what is the point? I for one will never purchase anything from there again or either purchase gift vouchers. (Which I have done on numerous occasions) . MAC you need to train your assistants to the high standard that is deserving of the store. All the other sections manage it effortlessly, why can't you?
